VEG MOMOS RECIPE
Momos: a popular dumpling.
Momos are a type of dumpling that originated in Tibet and have since become a popular street food in many parts of Asia, particularly in Nepal, Bhutan, and India. They are typically filled with ground meat (often chicken, pork, or lamb), vegetables (such as cabbage, onions, and garlic), and a blend of spices. The filling is then wrapped in a thin, doughy wrapper and either steamed or fried until cooked. Momos are often served with a spicy dipping sauce made from tomatoes, chilies, and other seasonings. They are a delicious and convenient snack or meal, enjoyed by many people around the world.

For the sauce:
- 3-4 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1-2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a mixing bowl, add the all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add water and knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a separate mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for the filling and mix well.
- After 20 minutes, knead the dough again for a minute and then roll it out into a thin sheet.
- Cut the sheet into small circles using a cookie cutter or any circular lid.
- Take a circle in your palm and place a spoonful of filling in the center of the circle.
- Start pleating the edges of the circle to form a pouch-like shape with the filling inside.
- Seal the edges of the momo by twisting and pinching the pleats together.
- Repeat the same with the remaining dough and filling.
- Heat a steamer and grease the steamer basket with oil to prevent the momos from sticking to the basket.
- Place the momos in the steamer basket and steam for 10-12 minutes until they become translucent and cooked.
- In a separate mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for the sauce and mix well.
- Serve the momos hot with the sauce.
